Two events in Abu Dhabi for our partners

December 19, 2016

Two important dugong and seagrass events are on our radar in March 2017 and both are organised by the CMS Dugong MoU Secretariat:

  1. Third Meeting of Signatories (MOS3) to the Dugong MoU
  2. Seagrass and Dugong Technical Workshop

MOS3 occurs once every three years. It’s key to knowing where dugongs and their habitats are on the conservation agenda of decision-makers from dugong range states, as well as evaluating the progress of dugong and seagrass research and conservation.

MOS3 is primarily intended for representatives and decision makers within government but selected conservation initiatives, such as the Dugong and Seagrass Conservation Project, have the opportunity to report progress and lessons learned.

The second event, the Seagrass and Dugong Technical Workshop, will be held back-to-back with MOS3. It is most relevant to researchers, conservation practitioners and marine resource managers. It is also useful to those wanting to build capacity in all aspects of dugong and seagrass conservation, particularly research, economic models, work with communities and businesses, and communications.

Both of these events present good opportunities to meet the Technical Advisors of the CMS Dugong MoU. If you are interested in joining, you must pre-register. To do so, click on both links below:
